As we approach the weekend that in many minds is the kick off to summer, there is no time like the present to get prepared for the Memorial Day holiday festivities with friends and family. Whether that’s hanging out poolside or backyard kicking it with a grill, there is no reason for your Memorial Day Holiday outfit not to be ‘snatched.’ That said, I’ve put together a few “feeling myself” outfits for any occasion to help you celebrate your 3-day weekend in style.
Are you soaking up the sun by the pool this Memorial Day weekend? It’s all good, step out in a polka dot two-piece played up with big jewelry, sunglasses, and a swimsuit cover-up like this one. Throw some flip flops or slide-ins on your feet, and you’re good to go!
With the holiday weekend being all about Veterans, why not show your patriotic side and rock your red, white and blue ensemble to the backyard BBQ. Try a pair of red capris, and a white or blue top but whichever color you choose don’t forget to put the remaining color on your feet; (i.e., Red Capris, white top, blue shoes or Red Capris, blue top, white shoes).
Traditional summer looks always work, and what could be more classic then shorts and a tank or tee? You guessed it, nothing. Therefore, it’s a great idea to have an assortment of plain or expressive t-shirts in your collection along with shorts of any length because, well, because you just should. For a little extra ‘umph,’ go for a printed or patterned romper for a look that’s both comfortable and casual but also can go glam should you decide to take it there.
And while we’re on the subject of Memorial Day and Veterans, did you know that last year alone, Ohio Valley Goodwill served almost 600 U.S. Veterans and their families through grant funding from the U. S. Department of Labor (DOL), and the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA). At Ohio Valley Goodwill Industries, Veterans can receive assessment, training, and case management support, enabling them to maximize their employment and life potentials. By merely becoming a part of Ohio Valley Goodwill’s Veterans services program, participants develop a host and range of skills and education that successfully meet many employer job requirements.
Ohio Valley Goodwill’s award-winning reputation for effectively assisting Veterans in securing employment is outstanding (locally and on a federal level). Goodwill currently operates one of the oldest and largest total services projects for Veterans in Southern Ohio.
Ohio Valley Goodwill salutes our nation’s veterans wishing everyone a very Happy Memorial Day!
